In light of the evolving situation and increasing media coverage surrounding the Coronavirus, we want to assure our residents that we are closely monitoring developments and will to the best of our ability institute all measures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

As you are probably aware, there are currently no identified cases within Miami-Dade, and there is currently no identified risk among our staff or residents. Nonetheless, we are taking additional precautionary measures to be extra vigilant amid peak flu season and the growing concerns around Coronavirus. In addition to the personal prevention methods noted below, building staff has also been advised to follow the recommended practices, and maintenance staff has been directed to increase cleaning and sanitization in our common areas, including:

• Gyms – Machines will be sanitized/wiped down 3 to 4 times per day.
  • We recommend you wipe down the machines before and after you use them.
• Playroom – Toys, to the best of our ability will be sanitized/wiped down 3 to 4 times per day.
  • If your children are sick please do not take them to the playroom.
  • We also recommend that you wipe down the toys your children will be playing with before and after they use them.
• Hand sanitizers will be placed in the gyms and playroom.
• Handrails, doorknobs, elevator buttons, doors exiting to pool deck, and both lobby entrance handles will be sanitized/wiped down 3 to 4 times per day.

As with all communicable diseases, prevention is key. We recommend that everyone take their own specific health needs into account, but at a minimum, we note that the following practices have been recommended by the CDC to prevent the spread of Coronavirus and other respiratory diseases:

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
• Stay home when you are sick. Do not go to the Restaurant or Management Office.
• If you are sick, notify the office so no personnel will enter your unit.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• If you or someone you know at The Towers has been exposed to or diagnosed with the Coronavirus, notify the Management Office (305-361-9114) so that proper measures can be taken to better protect our community from an outbreak.
