Dear Residents,

As you’ve seen, we intend to hold a Board Meeting Tuesday evening to review actions being taken at TKB with to responsibly address the risk associated with Coronavirus.  As previously said, we continue to closely monitor developments in this evolving situation and keep you apprised of actions being taken at the Towers.

·             As of this morning, we have increased the cleaning and sanitizing routines, with a focus on commonly touched surfaces throughout our common areas, including door handles, handrails, counters, and especially elevators which are expected to be cleaned and sanitized 7-10 times each day.

·             At this time we are continuing our decision to close the gym and certain of our common rooms. However, in recognition of the increasing number of residents who are working from home, we are going to re-open, on a trial basis, the Card Room 2 opposite the elevators in Tower F. It will initially be open from 9am to 7pm Monday through Friday for the exclusive use of adult residents use for work, and for students who wish to study there. Like a library, it will be a noise-free environment, and may only be used by one person per table. Users are asked to wipe down the surfaces they touch (chairs and table) both before and after use, and the room will be thoroughly cleaned by TKB staff each night.

·             To minimize contact between our staff and residents, we are temporarily modifying our practices regarding package delivery. As of today, our staff will no longer enter apartments to deliver or leave packages. Instead they will put the package in front of the unit door and ring the bell. If the owner is home, the staff member will sign that the package was retrieved (thereby eliminating the need to pass the iPad). If no one is home, the package will be returned to the Receiving Dept, where it will need to be picked up by the Resident as soon as practical, but in any event, in no more than 5 days (as we do not have the space to store packages).

We continue to encourage all residents to take their own specific health needs into account, and heed the risk management guidance of the CDC. We also ask all residents to avoid large gatherings, and practice “social distancing” including when in and around the pools and our common areas.
