We continue to be encouraged that our only resident who has reported testing positive for COVID-19 has been medically cleared, and that none of our staff or their families have reported symptoms of the virus. But we fully share the caution that we continue hearing from our Village
This State of Emergency will last longer than anyone would like
We all want a quick end to this pandemic. We want our lives to return to normal, but we need to remember why that cannot happen yet. We have not yet reached the projected peak of this virus. The number of positive cases is still increasing daily in Miami-Dade County. The County Mayor and your Village government agree that it is too soon to re-open beaches and parks. Please be patient. Our beaches remain closed for your safety and the safety of all residents to minimize everyone’s potential contact with the virus. The more everyone complies with Emergency Orders, the sooner we can get back to the activities and places we love.
So as boredom or frustration gets a grip on more of us, we need to remind ourselves that this is not a time to drop our guard, but to refocus and double our efforts to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus, and at the same time, minimize the risk that we will expose others to it.
County Emergency Order 15-20 states, amongst other things, that residents are not allowed to use the beach or pool decks, even if bringing their own seating and/or practicing physical distancing. We will be posting signs on the pool deck, and ask everyone for their cooperation.
We have also updated our recommendation for anyone using our elevators to limit occupancy to one person or family at a time (another will be available quickly!), and reminding everyone that there is spray disinfectant in each of our elevators that should be used after touching elevator buttons.
Also, consistent with VillageEmergency Order 6-20,any worker making a delivery inside the Towers will be required to wear a protective mask.
Please refer to ourwebsite for our recent COVID-19 Updates to review the other actions and recommendations at TKB to address this risk, as well as to find links toCDC guidelines, FDOHCOVID-19Info, and other useful information.
As we began with a message from the Village, let’s conclude with another one:
Public health is everyone’s responsibility, but you cannot control the actions of others. Only you can protect yourself. We all need to be socially responsible and practicesocial distancing for the well-being of our entire Village. Remember, the best way to avoid COVID-19 is to avoid exposure. Obey Emergency Orders designed to protect your safety. #KBStayHome: You are safer at home.
EACH of us is responsible for ALL of us. Our personal decisions to practice social distancing and to stay safe at home impact everyone around us. The ultimate success of every attempt to protect our health and safety depends on each of us.
If there are ways we can be of assistance as you navigate the challenges of staying at home, please let us know and we will do our best to help.
