Dear Residents,
The Village of Key Biscayne has passed Amendment 2 of Emergency Order 20-5 which will allow construction work in condominium units to proceed under certain limited circumstances, subject to Village Building Department approval.
We appreciate, as the Village Council expressed in their comments discussing this resolution, that many owners throughout the Village’s condos were caught in the middle of renovating their units during this pandemic which has resulted in added burden and cost to residents. In order to alleviate this situation for TKB owners, the Board will consider at the May 14th Board Meeting whether to authorize management to fulfill the intent of the Village’s Amendment by applying to the Building Department, on behalf of residents who so request, for an exemption to the provisions of Emergency Order 20-5. Each such request will include the individual justification for the request as written by the resident, and shall be conditional upon the resident and their contractors specifically agreeing to abide by the following rules established by TKB. These rules are intended to help minimize risk to residents from having additional people on our property, as well as minimize disturbance and exposure to our residents, while allowing work in previously approved units to proceed. The Village will determine whether to allow the exemption for each unit that applies.

Please also note that the Board will also consider at the May 14th meeting authorizing management to act upon the following temporary rules to accommodate residents who wish to have deliveries of furniture or appliances to their units, as well as who wish to schedule move-ins or move-outs.
