TKB Coronavirus Update May 9: Gyms Remain Closed at TKB
Dear Residents,
While the Village and County has now allowed gyms to re-open, we have confirmed with the Village that our gym may only be opened subject to adhering to the “New Normal” requirements established for commercial gyms. Whereas we could meet many of the county imposed restrictions, such as our saunas closed, removal of common use amenities such as mats and chairs, establish rules to minimize usage, create necessary signage and set up disinfecting stations, other requirements would impose substantial additional costs and requirements on TKB, both in terms of HVAC and ventilation capabilities, and the requirement that we would need to dedicate TKB Staff. They would have to monitor the facility and ensure that all equipment and high-touch surfaces are appropriately disinfected after each use, in addition to the requirement that all patrons sanitize each piece of equipment used. Staff would also be required to clean all common area high touch surfaces at a minimum of every two hours, as well as fully clean and disinfect the entire facility at the end of each day.
As a result, we will not open the gyms at this time, but will wait until it can be done safely but without those requirements established for commercial gyms.
