We want to make you aware that one of our residents has informed us this morning that they have tested positive for Coronavirus, and that they are and will be self-isolating within their apartment. They are currently not experiencing any symptoms but will remain within their apartment until a negative test result and receipt of medical clearance. They have also notified those people they have been in contact with in the last 1-2 weeks. Please be advised, as we’ve explained in previous correspondence, that the Association’s policy is to maintain the confidentiality of the name and unit of that individual.
While their self-isolation minimizes the risk of others outside their apartment being exposed to their virus, it is a reminder that each of us must take concrete steps to minimize the risk of exposure. The Mayor of Key Biscayne has repeatedly made a compelling argument for this being a time when we need to come together to minimize the risk not just for ourselves but for all of our community.
Remain alert for subjective fever, cough, or difficulty breathing.
If they feel feverish or develop cough or difficulty breathing during the self-observation period, they should take their temperature, self-isolate, limit contact with others, and seek advice by telephone from a healthcare provider or their local health department to determine whether medical evaluation is needed.
The Association and Management continue to take actions in an effort to protect the health and safety of the residents. We continue to exercise diligence in frequently cleaning and sanitizing common area surfaces, particularly the buttons in the elevators. However, it is important that all residents continue to frequently wash their hands, wear masks whenever outside of your homes, practice social distancing, limit in-person contact with others, and exercise health and safety precautions when coming into contact with the condominium’s common elements.
Thank you for all you are doing to help make all of our residents safer.
