Dear Residents,

As reported at last week’s Board Meeting, we are continuing to evaluate how we can responsibly extend services and amenities to our Residents. As such, we are happy to announce the following temporary rule changes (each of which is subject to change):

TKB GYM: We will be opening the large gym on Wednesday, June 17 at 7:00am. Due to COVID-19 and the County regulations, there are new rules in place in addition to the existing ones. The large gym will be open for ONE PERSON at a time for up to a 45 minute workout. The small gym will not be open at this time. Only members of the same household, registered as residents and residing in the building, may work out at the same time. No exceptions, no trainers, no guests. The shower, sauna, steam room and bathrooms are closed until further notice. Reservations are to be made up to 72 hours in advance, via phone, directly with the Front Desk of Building 1 by calling 305-361-7046.

GYM RULES

  • Reduced gym hours: 7:00am to 7:00pm
  • Last entrance at 6:00pm
  • By reservation only up to 72 hours in advance with Bldg. 1 Front Desk at 305-361-7046. Reservations cannot be made for more than one consecutive day.
  • Reservations will be made on the hour, and the gym must be vacated no later than 45 minutes after the hour.
  • 15 minutes in between reservation slots to allow for cleaning of equipment
  • Resident with reservation may pick up key fob for entry to the gym at the Front Desk no earlier than on the hour
  • Only ONE person allowed in the gym per session, except if additional resident member(s) of same household
  • No outside trainers or guests will be allowed. No exceptions
  • Residents must bring a sweat/wipe-down towel to enter the gym
  • Residents must wipe down/sanitize each machine they use before and after use. Spray sanitizer will be available
  • Masks must be worn when walking to the gym and immediately after workout when leaving the gym
  • Rules can be changed at any time based on demand and use.
  • Violation of Rules will result in immediate suspension of use for violating resident

BEACH:

  • UMBRELLAS: Beginning Tuesday, June 16, TKB staff will set up between 7-10 umbrellas on the beach for use by TKB Residents. Each one is to be used by a single person or household, and will be available at 10:00am on a first come first served basis. They cannot be reserved. They are not to be moved or adjusted during the day (call a Pool attendant if there is a problem). The umbrellas will be taken down at the earlier of 6:00pm or the onset of shadows on the beach.

 

  • BEACH LOUNGES: Starting on Saturday, beach chairs will be made available to residents from 10:00am to 6:00pm only on Saturday-Sunday. Chairs may be moved but may not be placed closer than 6’ apart except for members of the same household. We will make up to 50% of our available beach chairs available on a first come first served basis, with no reservations allowed. The beach attendant, unless working with a resident, will be based near the main entrance to the beach. Two CRITICAL rules which will allow us to continue this service are
  • Upon departure from the beach, you must inform the beach attendant which chairs you used so that they can be sanitized, or turn lounge/chair sideways to indicate that you have vacated the furniture and that it needs to be sanitized.
  • All beach chairs must be vacated no later than 6:00pm, in order for our personnel to pick up and store the furniture.

BBQ Grill: Beginning Friday, June 19th, the BBQ grill will be available on weekends. Only one person at a time may use the grill for a maximum of 30 minutes, and in the event that someone is already using the grill when you go, the TKB Staff person will keep a list of additional residents who wish to use the grill, and can call you a few minutes before the grill is expected to be available for you. Our staff will disinfect the BBQ knobs and counter surfaces between each user. No chairs or tables will be allowed. The BBQ will be available during the following hours:

  • Friday     5:30 – 9:00pm
  • Saturday Noon – 9:00pm
  • Sunday  Noon – 9:00pm

CARD ROOMS: Beginning Tuesday, June 16th, the card room in each of the buildings will be available to residents who wish to use it for quiet study or work. Phone calls associated with that will be allowed if done quietly. Social distancing must be followed, and several of the tables will be removed in order to increase the space between them. Only one chair per table will be allowed, and no social gatherings, including card games, will be allowed. Spray disinfectant will be available in the rooms, and residents must disinfect the table and chair before and after their use. Available hours will be Mon-Fri 9:00am to 7:00pm. Residents wishing to use the rooms on the weekend should contact the office in advance.

As explained at the Board Meeting, although TKB Staff will be actively working to help minimize the risk of virus spread, Residents choosing to use any of these common areas and amenities do so at their own risk.
