Dear Residents,
We want to bring to your attention that during yesterday’s County Commissioners meeting, the commissioners unanimously voted to impose civil fines up to $100 for anyone found in violation of the county emergency order, which requires individuals to wear masks or facial coverings in public spaces. This allows the police dept. effective immediately to issue civil citations to any individual or business found in violation of Amendment No. 1 to Miami-Dade County Emergency order 20-20. While they provide a few exceptions, such as while exercising and for individuals working outdoors, the County Amendment 2 to Emergency Order 26-20, provides that all individuals in a gym or fitness center shall at all times wear a mask or other facial covering. The order is a sweeping recognition that face masks are one of the most effective means of controlling the spread of Coronavirus.
We hope that all residents, guests, staff, and contractors will avoid the risk of the $100 fine, and decrease everyone’s risk by wearing facial coverings in the common areas and throughout the property of the Towers.
Thank you for all you’re doing to keep our residents and staff safe
