The Mayor of Key Biscayne announced that the Village learned on Sunday night that 5 individuals residing in Key Biscayne have tested positive for COVID-19.
While we do not have any knowledge of positive cases at the Towers of Key Biscayne, we join the Village in encouraging each of us to stay abreast of theCDC guidelines, and strongly recommend basic preventions including:
Practice 6 feet of “social distancing” everywhere, as well as limit gatherings to no more than 10 people.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after returning home or being exposed to common area surfaces.
If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
Stay home when you are sick. Do not go to into the Management Office or the Common Areas.
If you are sick, notify the office so no personnel will enter your unit.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
If you or someone you know at The Towers has been exposed to or diagnosed with the Coronavirus, follow the CDC guidanceand please notify the Management Office so that proper measures can be taken to better protect our community.
Physician residents in the building have also asked that we relay their suggestions which include the following
Be sure you have an adequate supply of any prescriptions that you rely on
Shoes worn outside should be left at the door or disinfected before entering your home.
Use gloves when you might be exposed, such as picking up mail (and disinfect the area where your mail is placed) or when you pump gas (disinfect items such as your steering wheel, seat-belts, key fob, door handle, etc.)
Produce and food cans should be thoroughly washed.
We continue to take additional steps, and make additional recommendations, to increase your safety
All residents sitting on the pool deck shall be required to use their yellow towels to fully cover lounges or pool chairs that you are sitting on
All visitors to TKB shall be asked at the Front Gate to confirm that they are symptom free. If they state they are symptomatic, they shall be denied entrance to the property.
Residents having food or prescriptions delivered: There will be a table in each lobby for food or medical deliveries for any residents who do not wish to have deliveries to their unit. Residents will be contacted to promptly pick up their delivery. If you are self-quarantining for any reason, or if you are disabled, please advise the Office and we will deliver it to your door.
For the safety of our Staff we have taken the following measures:
The number of employees on each shift has been reduced.
No more than five employees are allowed in the lunchroom at the same time. Lunch will be from 11:00 to 1:30 pm, to allow for us to stagger five employees at a time. Everything in the kitchen will be wiped down throughout the day.
We will continue to share information as it becomes available. Thank you for all you are doing to help keep our community safe.
