Dade County, with the support of the Village of Key Biscayne, has announced that effective Monday, June 1^st beaches throughout the county will be open, and condos may re-open their pools. Restrictions are well-defined by the County, and they have stated they will be aggressively enforced.

Therefore, effective Monday, the Towers will open our swimming pools for the exclusive use of TKB residents. Until future notice, rules pertaining to use of the pools and the pool decks shall include:

• Pool hours shall be limited to 8am to 7pm, with staff onsite during those hours.
• No more than 10 people may use a pool at the same time. If there are close to the maximum number of people permitted in the pool, please limit your time to 30 minutes to allow others to use the pool.
• Social distancing is required. Individuals from different households shall remain a minimum of 6′ apart in the pools and on the pool decks.
  • Lounge chairs will be placed by an umbrella which will serve as a marker to reinforce social distancing on the pool decks and are not to be moved. If multiple members of a household wish to sit together, they may ask the Guard to provide additional chairs (not lounge chairs), and also inform the Guard upon your departure so they can be removed and cleaned. These chairs must be no closer than 6′ from another household’s chairs.
    • Please inform pool staff when you leave so that they can disinfect the chairs you used.
    • Residents who wish to bring their own chairs are welcome to do so.
    • Disinfectant spray will be available for residents to use prior to their use of chairs.
    • Pool Exercising (water aerobics) shall be limited to Pool 1 in the mornings from 8-11
    • Swim Instruction shall be limited to Pool 2 in the mornings from 8-11
    • All residents using lounge or regular chairs shall be required to cover them with a yellow towel.
    • Pool bathrooms will be closed during this phase of the pools’ reopening.

Also Monday, the beach shall be open to all residents

• Access TO the beach shall be available through the Watercraft by using the door near the sink in the BBQ area. The doors to the beach in Towers A & B may also be used
• Return FROM the beach shall only be through the gate to the shower (with the shoe racks)
• Until further notice, TKB shall not provide chairs or umbrellas at the beach. Residents are welcome to bring their own chairs and umbrellas.
• County rules require anyone using the beach to have a face mask with them and wear that mask anytime they are within 6′ of a non-household member. The County also asserts they will aggressively enforce 6′ social distancing requirements both in the water and on the beach.
• No groups over 10 people.
• No tents are allowed.

The Village and County are strongly encouraging all residents to respect the rules and thereby decrease the risk to themselves and the community. As the sign in our garage says, “we love our residents”, and for the same reason, the Towers strongly encourages all residents to adhere to these rules to keep themselves and our community safe. We will closely monitor usage of both the pools and beach, and the respect afforded the rules. They will be modified accordingly as necessary.
